Senior Systems Engineer, ATM Switch

DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose :

The ATM Switch Specialist is overall responsible for the management and technical support operations of the bank’s ATM Switch and related devices and interfaces. Currently CBD is using the FIS IST Switch System (Version 7.6.1). Responsible of solving major problems in switch system, developing the states & screens, perform the customization, Monitoring all ATMs, CDMs behavior, Integrating the ATMs with the switch, Managing the compliance, Work with vendors (FIS/NCR/WINCOR/FDI) , Managing HSM, Schemes (VISA/MasterCard) and UAE Switch as per the requirement.

Principal Accountabilities :

  • Developing and customizing the IST switch system modules. Testing and Implementation to live system.
  • Designing and developing the IST switch related applications.
  • Maintain and monitor the ATM /Switch related applications, platform, schemes connectivity and ensure 24×7 availability of the switch systems and switch related applications.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules to ensure timely switch compliance update as per schemes and other compliance requirements.
  • Tune the system for better performance, make recommendations where appropriate, and provide reliable environments to suit customers and benefit the institution.
  • Direct the timely resolution of system (Electronic banking) problems and escalate the unsolved problems to higher Levels so that user’s work is minimally affected.
  • Set-up recovery procedures and processes for all contingencies as to ensure minimum down time for Switch and the ATMs/CDMs/POS/Cards System.
  • Maintain the EFT Switch security devices & ensure appropriate security standards (FIPS/PCI).
  • Assist Unit Head in preparing the ATM/SW/Cards operational budget, suggestions and experience and to contribute to the unit effectiveness.
  • Provide assistance to different ATMs/Cards related projects to meet the Bank’s business and functional needs and commitments of the department.
  • Vendor management, Review the SLAs, conducting feedback meetings.
  • Execute the agreed projects/tasks within the timeframe and budget while ensuring the maximum security to meet the Bank’s needs.
  • Continues improvement in all the above area – setup mutually agreed criteria.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Experience :

  • Graduate with Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • ITIL Foundation level certification.
  • NDC/ANDC Training.
  • EMV/Smart Cards Training.
  • 6+ years’ experience in banking IT development sector, especially in payments & ATMs.
  •  At least 5 years’ experience in FIS IST ATM Switch development, configuration and maintenance/administration.
  •  Good development skills in IST Switch System modules to perform the development and customizations.
  •  In depth technical knowledge in ATM switching with specific experience in IST Switch system.
  •   Good experience in ATM/CDM machine administration
  •   Good understanding of system requirements for banking operational processes.
  •   Good understanding of ATM Channels, Various Schemes (VISA, MasterCard, CUP) & UAE Switch interfaces.
  •   Good knowledge in IST Switch States/Screen development.
  •   Good knowledge in IST Switch development using the SDK’s.

Material Planning Officer (UAE National)

Job Purpose
As a Materila Planning Officer you will support provisioning and re-provisioning of aircraft spares, tools and services to assist with attaining the corporate objective of desired despatch reliability.
What you will be doing:
  • To initiate planning action ensuring effective support of materials for operations at agreed levels, thereby ensuring timely completion of maintenance inputs.
  • According to the existing Engineering Material Planning EPM, to maintain the inventory to the established ground rules. To control rotables, repairables and expendables, thus optimising the stock for the support of the companies? aircraft despatch reliability standards.
  • To support data control, keeping in mind the company OEM policy, (original engineering manufacturer) toward maintaining and purchasing only approved spares. Controlling vendor / supplier and data control standards in accordance with the OEM philosophy, thus maintaining the inventory to an approved standard.
  • Frequent liaison with external suppliers and representatives, technical and non technical, in the pursuit of optimising the inventory. Regular reviews of the inventory, component failure rate analysis and supplier performance. Liaison with the warranty group to explore / establish appropriate warranty remedies
  • To manage fleet defects, minimum equipment list spares, reporting on the same and making appropriate recommendations for defect spares clearance. Liaison with the associated departments of warranty, repair, MCC, purchasing, development engineering, line and base maintenance for defect and MEL clearance.
  • To interpret component maintenance manuals, parts catalogues, aircraft work packs, technical notices and associated aircraft publications both technically and professionally for spares support.
  • To ensure the long and short term planning requirements of materials in conjunction with the maintenance plans, scheduled and unscheduled.
  • To suggest and initiate project buying / staggering of receipts, thus ensuring economies are exploited for optimal effect, whilst maintaining the companies despatch reliability objective.
  • To manage a team of materials staff in conjunction with interdepartmental liaison. This in order to meet the companies? objectives of service level and despatch reliability support, for aircraft on the line and on `C check.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:

  • Engineering.Materials & Stores 5+Years Knowledge/Skills:
  • Experience in an airline or third party maintenance environment, (less experience will be considered if the academic qualifications are greater (graduate /licence graduate engineering/AME).
  • Industry experience in varies supply chain management is preferable ( Warehouse and Logistics, Repairs Management, Material Planning/Support & Inventory Control), Technical Purchasing preference will be given to personal with airline experience however consideration will also be given to candidates with good educational background with experience in above functions from other fields involving high value, technically complex products
  • Good understanding of both mainframe and P.C. related systems within Inventory and Word Processing environments. – Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of aircraft components and associated systems, and a sound experience of the EMPACS Inventory Management System.
  • Be able to interpret provisioning data, both electronically and manually, and the ability to review service bulletins engineering orders and engineering drawings. The ability to coach and motivate both existing and future staff.

5 Unprofessional Things You Should Never Ever Say At Work

The Bible tells us that our words have incredible power. You can use your tongue to bring blessings, curses, and life. Through words, you can hurt or heal. Your words can inform, educate, motivate, unite and can divide.

The same Bible, therefore, instructs us not to use foul or abusive language. Everything you say should be good, helpful and encouraging to others listening to you.

Whether or not you agree with it, our tongues can be the most challenging thing to control.  Sometimes they may leave us with great regret if we are not careful. The good news is you can control the words you speak!

Remember you spend most of your time at the workplace and it is best to remain professional always to maintain a good reputation. You can’t afford to lose friends at work just because of some simple words or phrases that come out of your mouth.

In this article, I have compiled a few things you should never say at work and how to avoid them.

1. ‘That is not my job’

There are times your colleague or boss will ask you to do something that’s completely not related to what you do. It has happened to me, so I know.

Sometimes you may feel it is not your responsibility and you resist doing it.

So how do you react when you know you can’t do it? Do you pull the “This is not my job” response? If you say this, you will not portray yourself as a team player.

Instead, you can say something like “I have not done this before but I will do it for you.”

This is a bit professional as it indicates your willingness to collaborate and embrace new challenges.

2. ‘You look pregnant’

This is absolutely weird. You may have developed great friendships with your colleague to a point where you are free to ask or discuss anything with them. But the rule is, keep personal space between you.

Asking questions like “Are you pregnant?” doesn’t sound cool. It’s intrusive and disrespectful, to say the least. Just never say or mention something like this.

If your colleague is in that state, it is upon them to tell you when they are comfortable to. If you are wrong, things get really uncomfortable.

3. ‘I’m sorry’

Making mistakes is natural. There are several ways you can be in the wrong at work without even realizing it.

And when it happens, acknowledge your faults and apologize. This, however, does not mean just saying sorry openly. There’s a professional way of doing it. Say something like: “Excuse me. I know this was wrong, and it would not happen again.”

4. ‘That’s impossible’

This is one of the negative statements that can greatly affect your productivity in life.

You have probably heard successful people say ‘Everything is possible’. This is 100% true but why do you think yours is impossible?

Even if you have tried almost all the possible solutions and you think you are now exhausted, remember there are more than 1001 other options to do it better.

You can communicate through your words what you can do to improve the situation. Say something like “Let’s discuss and find out what’s possible under these situations.”

5. ‘I’m too busy’

I am not saying you are not a busy person. I know you have several things to accomplish within a short time. Sometimes you are faced with limited time that you are unable to attend to others. However, you should not use this as an excuse to avoid offering assistance to others.

Saying something like “I’m too busy” makes others feel less important. As a professional, your aim is to build and maintain positive relations with others.

Always, learn to exercise empathy when addressing other people.

In the end, you will realize that these are just but a few common phrases that come up in our everyday conversations at work but the trick is to be conscious and aware of the language you use. Be observant in meetings, presentations, and arguments and in no time you will be communicating positively with confidence.
